The Tokyo Pride Parade is
the biggest event of its kind in Japan that appeals to the public
to increase the "visibility" of sexual minorities
such as LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) persons
and to realize their "harmonistic coexistence" in
society. This year marks the 6th anniversary of the Tokyo Pride
Parade taking place on August 11.
On the day of the Parade,
in Yoyogi Park, the site of the Parade, there will also be a
flea market that aims to offer a place for people with diverse
backgrounds to communicate regardless of gender and sexuality.
The event attracted more than
5,000 people last year including families, heterosexual couples
and LGBT persons and we expect an event greater turnout this
year.
We, the 6th Tokyo Pride Parade
Steering Committee, would like to invite you to come and participate.
